The Energy Investment Coordinating Council declared four energy projects of national significance in April.

The EICC, led by the Department of Energy, issued the latest certificate of energy project of national significance to DMCI Power Corp.’s 15 megawatt, coal-fired power plant in Palawan.

It issued CEPNS to Rizal Wind Energy Corp.’s 600-MW Rizal wind project which is under pre-development stage.

Rio Norte Hydro Corp. received a CEPNS for its 19.7-MW Ilaguen 3A hydro project in Isabela, also under pre-development stage.

EICC also granted CEPNS to two projects of SN Aboitiz Power Group, namely the 240-MW Alimit pumped storage hydro under predevelopment and the 10-MW Ollicon hydro project in Ifugao.

The EICC was created to streamline the regulatory procedures of energy projects as part of the Ease of Doing Business Program of the Duterte administration.
