Alsons Power Group’s Sarangani Energy Corp. recorded more than one million safe man-hours in its on-going operations in Maasim, Sarangani province.

The safe man-hour is the equivalent of hours each worker has served under one corporation or company. It is calculated by multiplying the number of workers to the number of man-hours they have served.

Alsons said that as of November 2018, SEC was able to log 1,067,692 worth of safe man-hours, while avoiding catastrophic events and work-related deaths.

SEC’s one million safe man-hour was not only exclusively computed based on the number of plant workers but also on the number of workers employed by its partners.

“One million man-hours without any significant injuries or safety issues are a big thing for us because it underscores our commitment to providing the best working condition for our workers,” said Joel Aton, human resource head and project assurance manager.
