PetroWind signs deal for Aklan wind project

PetroWind Energy Inc. of the Yuchengo Group and global wind turbine manufacturer Vestas announced Thursday the signing of the supply, operations and maintenance contract for the 13.2-megawatt Nabas2 wind power project in Aklan province.

PWEI parent firm PetroEnergy Resources Corp. said in a disclosure to the stock exchange Vestas would supply six units of 2.2-MW wind turbine generators. Vestas will also handle the operations and maintenance of the wind farm through a 10-year O&M agreement.

Being one of the leading energy solution providers worldwide, we are confident that Vestas will bring the latest advancements in wind farm technology and best practices in O&M for Nabas-2,” said PWEI assistant vice president for power plant operations Paul Elmer Morala.

The Nabas-2, located in the same service contract block as the existing 36-MW Nabas-1 project of PWEI, will add 13.2-MW capacity to the project.
