PAVI Green Renewable Energy Inc., (PAVI Green), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Prime Asset Ventures Inc., has been tapped by PMFTC Inc. (PMFTC), the Philippine affiliate of Philip Morris International, for its planned 7-megawatt (MW) solar rooftop project.

The companies signed an agreement that sealed PAVI Green’s support for PMFTC’s Zero Carbon Technology (ZCT) program as they are set to install a 7MW solar rooftop power system in PMFTC’s manufacturing facility in Tanauan City, Batangas.

The completion of the 7MW solar rooftop project in October 2023 is projected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 9,811.2 tons of carbon dioxide or equivalent to offsetting carbon by planting 304,147 to 451,315 trees or 1,001,527 gallons of gasoline consumption.

“We are honored to be part of PMFTC’s zero carbon journey, sharing the same vision and commitment towards a sustainable future, we are fully dedicated to making this project successful,” said Robert Marlon Pereja, Chief Operating Officer of PAVI Green.

For PMFTC’s part, manufacturing director Nicolas Souvlakis said the company is optimistic about its collaboration with PAVI Green. “We are confident that through our partnership we will be able to reach our carbon neutrality goals by 2025.”

PAVI Green, as one of the premier providers of clean and renewable energy in the country, is committed to helping businesses attain their sustainability goals through solar, hydro, and wind resources.

The solar rooftop project is soon to be one of the largest single commercial solar operations in the country with a rated capacity of 7MW, enough to meet the requirement of a 100-hectare manufacturing plant. The project is in fulfillment of PMFTC’s sustainability effort under the ZCT program that explores the use of alternative technological solutions including solar photovoltaics to achieve carbon neutrality in their direct operations by 2025. PAVI Green also recently bagged a 40.4 MW solar power plant project at the Department of Energy’s Green Energy Auction Program early this year. The project is seen to potentially energize around 15,000 households in the city annually, upon implementation.

Presently, PAVI Green is working on three large-scale solar projects, the 20MW in Bataan which will be completed this year, the 26MW scalable up to 75MW in Camarines Norte, and the 50MW scalable up to 75MW in Naga.
