MSK Note: Manila Bulletin’s Energy Writer Ms. Myrna Velasco wrote another letter to MSK in her defense of her journalistic record. MSK believes a continuation will only distract it from its real advocacy and where the real issues are in its campaign to stop unfair charges in Meralco’s rates and reduce it by 25%. We hope with our short response the matter with Ms Velasco can be put to rest. We hope to contribute in the next few days our ideas on the Successful Implementation of CSP.

Ms. Myrna Velasco
Energy Writer, Manila Bulletin
Dear Myrna:
Isn’t it wonderful that in our democracy we both are able to enjoy our freedoms, you of the press in the practice of your profession, and we of speech in our advocacy as volunteers for consumer protection?
We of course fully recognize and respect your full right as a journalist to choose your sources and slants and to discern what’s balanced reporting or not. For our part, we are at peace with the purity of our advocacy for all of us consumers and proud of the strength and depth of our reform initiatives. Maybe someday when your electric bills are consistently lower, you might find MSK deserving of a thank you.
We don’t really have to debate. Our bodies of works will speak for themselves. Anyways, we both know in our hearts for whom our bells toll.
Once again, we apologize if a three letter passage in our open letter caused your discomfort.
See you around.
