Spectrum, the solar solutions subsidiary of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has installed the solar rooftop facility of North Bound Infinity Real Estate Development, Inc., a warehouse provider in Bulacan province.
The power firm announced on Tuesday, Dec. 13, the inauguration of the 98.28 kilowatt-peak (kWp)) solar installation at North Bound’s storage warehousing facility in Guiguinto town.
The estimated electricity generation of the facility will reach 125,600 kilowatt hours (kWh) per year and is expected to generate savings of roughly P840,000 on the end-user firm’s electric bills annually.
This will result in reduced carbon emissions of at least 89 metric tons, equivalent to 4,100 trees planted and more than 356,300 kilometers of pared vehicle travels yearly, according to Spectrum.
North Bound is a company that provides suitable and accessible storage facility; and it also aids in deliveries of goods and services between Metro Manila and neighboring provinces in the North Luzon region.
Spectrum President and CEO Ferdinand O. Geluz noted that “through Spectrum’s solar solutions, we are able to deliver sustainable power supply within and outside the borders of Meralco’s franchise area.”
Given the twin dilemma of precarious power supply and high electricity rates in the country, more and more consumers have been shifting to solar rooftop solutions to address their energy needs on a cost competitive manner.
“Through its solar rooftop project, North Bound hopes to achieve operational efficiency while strengthening its environmental stewardship,” Spectrum emphasized.
“We are now in an era where a customer’s engagement with Meralco is no longer just about provision of basic electric service. As we move towards a greener future, the One Meralco Group goes beyond its mandate of delivering stable and reliable electric service to its customers,” he said.
Meralco’s Spectrum has been aggressively expanding its roll of customers – mainly local and foreign companies – that have been switching to renewable energy as a solution for their energy requirements, not just to bring down their power costs; but to contribute to the greater call of saving planet Earth.
