MSpectrum Inc., a wholly-owned solar subsidiary of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), energized the solar rooftop facility of Japanese manufacturer Citizen Finedevice Philippines Corp. in Batangas province.
The two companies recently inaugurated the new 726-kilowatt-peak (kWp) solar project at Citizen Finedevice’s manufacturing facility in Sto. Tomas, which is expected to generate about 1.055 gigawatthours (GWh) of clean energy every year.
Citizen Finedevice will be able to reduce its carbon footprint by 751 metric tons through the facility, translating into more than 34,500 trees planted and more than 1.8 million kilometers reduced in vehicle travel per year.
