EEI Energy Solutions Corp. (EEI Energy), the electricity arm of EEI Corp. of the Yuchengco Group, inked retail electricity supply deals with Centro Mall and Limcoma Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
EEI Energy had just acquired its Retail Electricity Supply (RES) license from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) last February. In just six months into its operation, EEI closed these two deals.
Centro Mall is one of the prominent shopping malls in Laguna while Limcoma is the first ISO 9001:2001 certified feed mill cooperative in the Philippines. Each facility requires over 500 kilowatts (kW) of electricity supply.
Prior to this, EEI Energy sealed a similar contract with the local counterpart of a leading Southeast Asian aquaculture manufacturer, which commenced last May. EEI Energy’s total contracted capacity to date is approximately 3.5 megawatts.

EEI Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EEI Power Corp., is increasing its presence in untapped market segments including areas in the Visayas region, as well as North and South Luzon.

Salire also said other facilities in the commercial and industrial market are expected to re-open or at least regain normal electricity consumption as the Philippine economy begins to bounce back. He added that increases in capacity of renewable energy produced by its parent company EEI Power will meet rising demand for retail electricity, as contestability threshold is expected to be lowered to 100kW in the coming years.
