The Department of Energy in the first four months of 2018 allowed power generating companies with a proposed combined output of 1,458.52 megawatts to conduct grid impact studies.
The projects approved to conduct a grid impact study include Maranao Energy Corp.’s 225-MW Agus 3 hydro project in Mindanao and Currimao Solar Energy Corp.’s 201.6-MW Talim wind project in Binangonan and Cardona, Rizal.
The agency also allowed Tri-Conti ECC Renewables Corp. to conduct the study for its Bohol 1 (Ubay) and Bohol 2 (Anda) in Bohol and the Batan wind project in Aklan totaling 200 MW.
Also approved were Barracuda Energy Corp.’s solar projects Laguna Lake-Balibago (126 MW), Laguna Lake-Bay (126 MW), Laguna Lake-Cabuyao ( 100.5 MW), Laguna Lake-Calamba (100.5 MW), Laguna Lake-Los Baños (100.8 MW), Laguna Lake-Lumban (65.5 MW) and Laguna Lake-UPLB ( 30 MW).
Green Atom Renewable Energy Corp. received the same go-signal for its waste-to-energy projects in Pampanga, Pangasinan and Batangas totaling 18 MW.
