The Department of Energy issued clearances to four companies planning to put up power plants a combined generating capacity of 1,758.7 megawatts to conduct a grid impact study.
The projects include the proposed 1,500-MW Mariveles offshore wind farm of Domhain Earth Corp. in Bataan.
It also granted clearance for an grid impact study on the 83.316-MW Currimao solar power project of Nuevo Solar Energy Corp. in Currimao, Ilocos Norte
The agency approved the 25.66-MW Dagohoy solar power project of PetroGreen Energy Corp. in Barangay San Vicente, Dagohoy, Bohol. It endorsed the 150-MW Bacolod solar power project of Negros PH Solar Inc. in Barangay Felisa, Bacolod City and Barangay Tabunan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
The DOE said it continued to receive strong interest in renewable energy development.
