CMP taps EDC to supply 2.5 MW of power to Tanauan, Batangas site

THE Citizen Machinery Philippines Inc. (CMP) has tapped the Energy Development Corp. (EDC) to supply 2.5 megawatts (MW) of power to the manufacturing company in Tanauan, Batangas.

Both signed a two-year power supply agreement with EDC supplying CMP of geothermal power from EDC’s BacMan Geothermal Project. The deal takes effect on December 26.

“As a manufacturing company, Citizen Machinery Philippines desires to be supplied by stable and low-cost electricity, especially since our foundry consumes much power,” CMP President Akihide Kanaya said. “EDC’s BacMan Geothermal Project meets these criteria. At the same time, we remain committed to give our customers the highest level of satisfaction possible. Choosing to be powered by 100-percent renewable energy strongly supports this commitment.”

CMP manufactures and assembles automatic lathe machines, which produces other machines for use in different industries.
