APC Group awarded geothermal contract

The Department of Energy awarded a new geothermal service contract to APC Group Inc. through subsidiary Aragorn Power and  Energy Corp.

APC said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange the DOE awarded the GSC to APEC for the Southwest Kalinga geothermal power project in the  municipalities of Pasil, Lubuagan and Tingalyan, Kalinga province.

The new contract will allow for  an exploration period of seven years.

“We continue to remain committed to support our country’s  objective to develop renewable energy and help improve the lives of our host community,” APC president Ian Jason Aguirre said.

APC Group Inc. owns 97.6 percent of APEC, which was established to engage in renewable energy resource exploration, development and utilization.
