Aboitiz Power Corp. on Monday disclosed the list of nominees for its nine-member board of directors for 2024-2025, including two independent board nominees.

The company said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange the seven board nominees include Sabin Aboitiz (chairman), Erramon Aboitiz (director), Emmanuel Rubio (current president and chief executive), Edwin Bautista (director), Danel Aboitiz (director and chief commercial and stakeholder engagement officer), Toshiro Kudama (director) and Izumi Kai (director).

Kudama and Kai are representatives of JERA Co. Inc., which acquired a 25.01-percent stake in AboitizPower in December 2021 for $1.463 billion.

The nominated independent directors are Eric Ramon Recto (vice chairman) and Cesar Romero, formerly president and chief executive of Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp.

Aboitiz Power is the holding company for the Aboitiz Group’s investments in power generation, distribution and retail electricity services.

It advances business and communities by providing reliable and ample power supply at a reasonable and competitive price, and with the least adverse effects on the environment and host communities.

The company is one of the largest power producers in the Philippines with a diversified portfolio of assets located across the country.

It owns hydroelectric, geothermal and solar power generation facilities.   It also has thermal power plants in its generation portfolio to support the country’s baseload and peak energy demands.

The company owns distribution utilities that operate in high-growth areas in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, including the country’s second and third largest private utilities.
