ABOITIZ Power Corp. (AboitizPower) is looking at the possibility of joining the liquefied natural gas bandwagon, a top official said on Monday. Chief Operating Officer Emmanuel Rubio said this would all depend on the government’s approach on LNG.
The Department of Energy envisions to start construction of LNG hub in 2019 in time for the anticipated depletion of the Malampaya natural gas facility sometime in 2022 to 2024.
The DOE has received interests from 15 firms that want to put up LNG facilities in the country.
