Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI) will supply diesel fuel to nine power plants of Aboitiz Power Corp.
CPI, marketers of the Caltex brand of fuels and lubricants, recently signed a contract with AboitizPower.
“With Chevron Philippines as our provider of quality fuel, we look forward to operational efficiency and worry-free operations so that we can keep supplying much needed power to keep the lights on in many Filipino households,” said Ronaldo S. Ramos, president of AboitizPower’s Oil Business Unit.
AboitizPower is engaged in power distribution, generation, and retail electricity services with 3,962-megawatt total capacity.
“We trust their reliable service to support our operations as we continue to provide the country with reliable, sufficient, and cost-effective power supply,” said Emmanuel Lopez, Senior Vice President of the AboitizPower’s Coal Business Unit.
“We are also thankful to Chevron for supplying us with the diesel and gasoline requirements we needed to start-up the power plant of Therma Visayas Inc. in Toledo, Cebu right after Typhoon Odette hit,” Lopez added.
CPI said Caltex-branded diesel fuel products have been specially designed to comply with stringent Philippine emission regulations and other market requirements. The fuel products also operate efficiently in both high and low-sulfur diesel fuel environments.
“Our partnership with AboitizPower is truly remarkable,” said Billy Liu, CPI country chairman, “since we share the same advocacy of providing affordable, reliable, and safe energy. Our number one goal now is to keep AP’s equipment running and electricity flowing at their thermal plants so they can continue to provide for the energy needs of the nation.”
