Nestlé Philippines Inc., a leading food company, has tapped Aboitiz Power Corp. to supply clean energy to its manufacturing facility in Lipa, Batangas province.
Aboitiz Power is also delivering clean energy to two other Nestlé factories in Cabuyao, Laguna and Tanauan, Batangas, as well as its corporate administrative office in Makati City.
Aboitiz Power informed the Philippine Stock Exchange that the 17-megawatt aggregated energy demand of the Nestlé facilities is supplied by the MakBan geothermal power plant in the provinces of Laguna and Batangas.
“We are committed to environmentally sustainable business practices and strive to minimize our environmental impact. In this regard, we are happy to be working with AboitizPower,” said Nestlé Philippines chairman and chief executive officer Kais Marzouki.
The two organizations celebrated their partnership with the recent awarding of the Cleanergy plaque by Aboitiz Power to Nestlé Philippines at Rockwell, Makati City.
Juan Alejandro Aboitiz, Aboitiz Power first vice president for energy trading and sales, said the company was honored to be the power partner of choice of a trusted global entity like Nestlé.
“It is an honor for Aboitiz Power to be able to contribute to Nestlé’s purpose, which is to enhance quality of life and contribute to a healthier future. With customers like Nestlé, who are leaders in their industries, we are driven to grow our portfolio of Cleanergy and further improve the quality of our services so we can serve them better,”
Aboitiz Power is sustaining the growth of its renewable energy portfolio to meet the rapidly increasing energy demand of customers.
“We fully support the government’s thrust for renewable energy and with the continued growth of our Cleanergy portfolio, Aboitiz Power is well-positioned to participate in RE market,” he said.
Aboitiz Power and its partners currently have a net sellable capacity of more than 1,200 megawatts of clean energy, which are delivered to a wide range of customers across various industries across the country.
