Energy World Corp. plans to complete in 2019 a liquefied natural gas hub in Pagbilao, Quezon province that will supply LNG to its 400-megawatt natural gas plant in the same area.

EWC said in its latest disclosure to the Australian Securities Exchange the construction works at the LNG hub “are well advanced.”

The company said LNG in the meantime would be delivered by LNG carrier “Ocean Quest” sailing the flag of Norway. It is owned by Hong Kong LNG, a subsidiary of Energy World International Ltd.

It said construction of the gas-fired power plant was also in advanced stages, with the gas turbines are in place.

“Works are ongoing to bring these turbines into commercial operations as soon as possible after financial close of the project with the target date of the first unit being brought into commercial operation in 2019 and the second unit within four months thereafter subject to capacity availability on the transmission systems,” the company said.
