Minergy Renewable Ventures Inc. said it held the groundbreaking and capsule-laying ceremonies for the 10-megawatt Lower Cabulig and the 9.3-MW Cabulig II Hydroelectric Power Projects (HPP) in Barangay Natubo, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental.

MRVI is a joint undertaking between Mindanao Energy Systems Inc. (MINERGY) and Philippine Potamic Hydro Power Corp.

The Department of Energy (DOE) welcomed the start of the construction of the hydro plants which will provide renewable energy supply to Nestlé Philippines. These hydroelectric power projects will provide renewable energy to Nestlé’s last remaining factory that has yet to fully transition to clean energy sources.

Minery said it is exploring another potential 1.4-MW HPP in Iligan City to fulfill its power supply commitments to Nestlé.
