Citicore Power Inc. said Monday it will provide clean and reliable energy to locators inside the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan in Mariveles, Bataan.

AFAB teamed up with Citicore to develop a solar rooftop project with total capacity of 6.64 megawatts that can generate electricity of 6,554 gigawatt-hours annually.

The solar panels will be installed across 14 buildings inside AFAB which is now investing in energy efficient buildings by harnessing the power of the sun as an alternative solution to maintain a sustainable environment.

“We are happy to welcome AFAB to our solar family and joining us in pushing Philippine’s goal of attaining solar revolution,” Citicore president Oliver Tan said in a statement.

The solar project will have an equivalent of more than 9,000 tons of carbon footprint reduction yearly. The installation is part of the overall sustainability strategy of AFAB.
